Little House on the Prairie: When the Walnut Grove community pitches in to help organize a picnic at the blind school, everyone is excited for the additions that will be soon built onto the school. During the picnic, Albert and a friend smoke secretly in the school's basement and carelessly dispose of the pipe--a grave mistake that causes a fire later that night. Alice Garvey and Adam Jr. are both killed in the blaze, which leaves the entire town stunned and grieving. While Mary slips into a deep shock, Jonathan's dependency on alcohol leaves him emotionally unavailable for his distraught young son. Meanwhile, Albert's guilt deepens each day, but how can he admit that he is largely responsible for these deaths?
