RahXephon: Ayato Kamina begins another normal day in Tōkyō. His mom, as usual, has already left for work, and seems to have so little time for him. Making his way to school is the same. His best friends, Hiroko Asahina and Mamoru Torigai, are with him. Yet somehow, Ayato feels that something isn't right. He has an uneasy awareness that he's being followed by someone, and is hearing strange noises from the sky. As it turns out, he is being followed, and there is a strange noise from the sky. Tōkyō is about to be attacked.
